Its narrow backplate allows for use on UPVC windows, and it includes a lockable espagnolette fixing. This fastener matches perfectly with the casement stay 1180 and is available in both left-hand and right-hand versions. Like all Kirkpatrick products, the Monkey Tail Casement Fastener 1171 is handcrafted in the UK at a Walsall foundry, utilising high-quality malleable iron. The product undergoes a two-layer coating process: a first layer of black paint followed by a second layer of black powder, ensuring a distinctive finish and protective coating.
